Photo of a
beautiful woman on Hunting Island Beach located
in Beaufort South Carolina
This is a stock photo of
Kris from South Carolina walking along a
beautiful stretch of beach at Hunting Island
located in Beaufort, SC.
Hunting Island is a
little-known South Carolina secret but is
fast-becoming well-known because of its serenity
and beauty.
If you travel to the north
side of Hunting Island, you'll find the
lighthouse which you can visit and climb the
steps to the top most times of the
year.
About one mile south and
you find yourself looking at a beautiful beach
leading up to a jungle. This section of Hunting
Island beach reminds me of Gilligan's
Island.
The jungle along the beach
is where Forrest Gump pulled his brothers in
arms out of the jungle in Viet Nam in the movie.
Beaufort is known for several movies including
"Forrest" and "The Prince of Tides".
Just on the other side of
Hunting Island is a sort of fishing lake. Not
being a fisherman I mostly just enjoyed the
peacefulness of the island and watched as the
real fishermen cast their lines in hope of the
"big one".
If you ever catch yourself
traveling close to the South Carolina coast be
sure to visit Hunting Island. The beach is
located just between Charleston and Savannah so
you can't miss it.
A Note about Hunting
Island, South Carolina:
Hunting Island is being
rennovated right now (2006) but I just hope the
state can preserve the beauty that holds my
memories.
