Hold Your
Breath and View the Blue Ridge Mountains of
North Carolina
- The song, by the way
one of my favorites, written by John Denver
called "Take Me Home, Country Roads" is about
the Blue Ridge Mountains in W. Virginia and I
will be the first to admit that the WV
mountains are absolutely
beautiful.

- But, speaking from
experience and with the proof of this stock
photo, I believe that the North Carolina Blue
Ridge Mountain chain is just as breathtaking.
I'm always captivated by their
beauty.

- While traveling on one
of my many trips on the Parkway, I was able
to capture a photo of this young couple as
they rested on a front porch and gazed out at
the majesty of the Blue Ridge Mountains
somewhere east of Asheville, NC.

- Looking out across the
landscape of the lake coupled with the Blue
Ridge Mountains, the couple looks as if they
could rock away hours without ever growing
weary of the view.

- Where exactly was the
photo taken? This particular section of the
Blue Ridge Mountains is located on a very
long strip of scenic highway in North
Carolina known as the Blue Ridge Parkway. If
you drive the Parkway, be sure to allow lots
of time because you'll be stopping frequently
to view the mountains or to walk some of the
many trails. There is so much to see and you
don't want to be in a hurry.

- The Blue Ridge
Mountains are part of the eastern Appalachian
Mountains and stretches from Georgia all the
way to Pennsylvania.

- When you travel the
Blue Ridge Parkway, be ready to climb as high
as around 6,000 feet above sea level which
allows for some stunning views.

- If you plan to visit
North Carolina, be sure that the Blue Ridge
Mountains and the Parkway are on your list.
You won't be dissapointed.
