Travel Tips - A Few Extras to Remember When Packing for Your Holiday

Packing - A Few Extras to Remember

Thanks for visiting and discovering my travel tips. Below you'll uncover knowledge that I have pulled together from numerous travel sources. I hope you find it both engaging and useful for your vacation.

You're getting prepared to pack up for your vacation, and you need a bit of help? Begin by making a schedule about 2 weeks before the holiday. Carry the information list with you during the day, and pen ideas as they come to you. Add to and rewrite the list as needed. There are a few things that may not occur to you which you might wish to remember ...

Take a clothespin or large safety pin to shut drapes that might not meet in the middle or even for clamping a bag of snacks you have in your room.

A corkscrew is beneficial because many countries will make their own wine and you may have a container in your room. A corkscrew will also be practical for a drink before meals.

Take water along, especially if your flight is longer than 3 hours. Bring a little spray bottle of water for your face. It is invigorating, relaxing, and your only source of humidity for the whole of a dry flight.

A small calculator is useful to calculate exchange rates in foreign currency and hopefully will keep you from being cheated on rates.

Many overseas hotels do not furnish washcloths, so come ready with a few of your own.

You never know when there will be a crying infant on your flight or an all-night disco in your inn, so carry some earplugs. Your neighborhood ears may not let you sleep with the city clammer.

Many hotels only supply a little package of tissues, if any at all, so carry a big box along. Keep a handful in your day pack for toilet paper too.

Bring a little stash of trail mix, dried fruit or nuts in case you get hungry on a trek or at nighttime when the restaurants are closed.

Make duplicate copies of all your vital travel documents: passport (picture page), tickets, ATM card, credit card, driver's license, traveler's checks, etc. If they get lost or stolen, you will know precisely what you're missing and have the numbers available. Of course, have this paper separate from the items you've made copies of!

And, take along some separately wrapped candies - not chocolate if you're going someplace balmy. Offer these to hotel staff, cab drivers and other people you'd like to be friendly to. It's a terrific way to break the ice and meet new friends.

This travel and vacation message was a culmination from many different travel resources. You should never just take one travel resource as a grain of salt and you should consider a theme from a few different perspectives before traveling on your vacation.

Hope you have a great trip and a special holiday!
