Bluffton is located in
Beaufort County and is situated on a high bluff
which overlooks the May River. This channel of

west over the bridge of Hilton Head Island, SC
and approximately 20 miles northeast of
Savannah, GA. The quaint town is south of both
Beaufort and Charleston making it the perfect

Rice and cotton plantation
owners built the first homes in Bluffton during
the 1800s. The town was officially incorporated
by the South Carolina Assembly in 1852. Much of
Bluffton was burned during the Civil War Period
but is now a thriving community and a leader in
tourism.
Only a few buildings
remained. The Church of the Cross, which was
spared during the war, is an attraction you will
not want to miss. From this astonishing sight
you will get a bird's eye view of the May
River.
Bluffton is rapidly
developing and is currently among the fastest
growing towns in the state of South Carolina.
Its streets are filled with bed &
breakfasts, churches, antebellum homes, and many
eccentric shops.

guides for all the shops, restaurants, and
special events taking place in
Bluffton.
Bluffton is the ideal town
for that get-a-way you have been longing for.
For all you passionate shoppers who are visiting
Bluffton, you will have the good fortune of
traveling just a few more miles for shopping in
historic Savannah, Hilton Head Island, or
Beaufort. You will be located right in the
center of the Low Country.
If you are an avid golfer,
your dream will come true when you visit the
Lowcountry golf courses. You will find some of
the courses are private, but many are open to
the public for a substantial fee. Golfers say it
is well worth it!!!
After a long day of
shopping and golfing and your stomach is saying,
"What About Me?", you'll find over 200
restaurants from which you can choose in the
Bluffton and Hilton Head areas. Of course,
shrimp and other seafood is at the top of all
the menus but a large variety of international
cuisine is also offered to suit even the most
picky of eaters.
After a full day of
entertainment and dining you are ready to go
back to the hotel and relax in the hot tub or
take a swim. You can sit back and reminisce
